last night peter and i went to the hoboken historical musuem. they had a display on the 100 1st's that were either invented or discovered or created in hoboken. who knew that col. john a. stevens invented EVERYTHING!!! stevens is the railroad/engineer version of thomas edison. i learned many a neat thing. the first oreo cookie was sold in hoboken, and the ice cream cone was invented here. the first street trolleys, horse elevator, and modern day railroad ties all invented here!!! what a place. i was fascintated to learn that hoboken is actually the indian name given to this area, so the fact that they kept the name is pretty cool.

the only thing missing from the HHM is actual ARTIFACTS! i mean, they could use a little something. the building they're in was once the machine shop for the hoboken shipyard, i'm sure they could've gotten something in there. maybe they need some donations!!!
