yesterday mom and i took in a matinee performance of 'The Light in the Piazza'. i enjoyed the show. the music was good, the acting was good. the understudy who played the male lead was HOT! now i won't give you any plot points here, if you want to know, you should email me. but i will tell you this, i was quite impressed by the clothing choices of the audience. as you might have guessed, i'm sick and tired of people looking like crap. when did sweat pants become acceptable day wear?? i mean really!!! but a majority of the people were wearing nice clothes, a very few pairs of jeans were spied by yours truly. and i say this because growing up going to the theater was a special event, and you dressed accordingly. (for the record, i wore a corduroy skirt and sweater)
then mom and i meet up with daddio at Tavern on the Green. the food was yum, the service was a little slow. i do reccomend the cheesecake! it was quite lovely. even the ceasar salad was delish!
here's another reminder to put away those yucky sweat pants, and put on some "slacks" as my grandma would say!

I'll I have is "slacks" and you make fun of them!
you have slacks that don't fit you!!! that's the difference
I've really been bothered by what people wear to the theatre, especially over the past few years. It was instilled in me a long time ago to always look nice when seeing a show. It truly pains me to see people walk in with a sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers. These tickets cost a lot of money; why not present yourself nicely?
I agree! It's the theater - dress up people! I'm thinking people should dress up more on a daily basis - bring back the old school hats and stuff!
And DM - your "slacks" are A) non fitting and B) you need to update the wardrobe!
