i think it's about time for me to get on a little soapbox. (mostly inspired by oprah)

i was watching oprah yesterday and she devoted her show to the human suffering in africa, specifically uganda and sudan. george clooney was on talking about his recent trip to the dafur region, and you we girls can't resist mr. clooney. so since i can't participate in his rally top stop genocide this weekend in dc, i decided to give a little something of myself to unicef, maybe you could give something of yourself. unicefusa.org! just a thought.

why is it when you get your hair looking just right, just the way you want it, you feel as if you can take on the world? is it all my years watching america's next top model that makes me feel this way? i know it's not from reading fashion mags, cuz the last one i truly read was 17 and i think i stopped getting that in college, and picked up newsweek instead. (a wise choice, i believe)

well, it's 68 and GORGEOUS outside. which means only one thing....i get to spend 10 or more hours at work tonight!!! let's hope the san jose hockey game doesn't go into OT, cuz then i'll be mad.

and finally, after working almost 3 months of 6 day work weeks, i was free to go back to the hopper and hang with the wednesday night crew. and it was great...eventhough we did spend some of the time teasing els! sorry els, but it was funny, BUT you did have some nice comebacks, so i think it all evens out. by the way, how's that job as a hooker going???

so this morning i got an email from that job interview i went on last week, and i didn't get it. but they said they'd keep me in mind if something else popped up. so i sent my resume out for another job today, hopefully i'll find a new job someday.

anyway, last night i had a dream that i filled up my gas tank for $80!!! sadly i think this may be a reality soon!! yikes!

so i went to the DMV the other day to renew my license. and after i got myself a slamming hair cut, i went on my way, and this is what i learned while sitting, waiting for my number 36 to be called: the pygmy owl of arizona is being taken off the endangered species list, and that the mumps are making a comeback. and the mumps can be "transported through the air". YIKES!! so keep away from kids with the mumps!

and i went on a job interview the other day, hopefully i'll get it. and if i do, i'll let you know.

i would like to take this opportunity to apologize to that special girl who i had to cancel having lunch with on friday. i felt so bad, in two ways. first i really wanted to hang with you, 2ndly, i was so under the weather. i made it to work, barely. but this morning i feel better.

but i do feel SOOOOOOOOOO bad. i will make it up to you! i promise!!!

things in the news that are annoying me.

1 - myspace: why don't parents teach their kids to NOT give out information to STRANGERS!!! i mean, isn't that one of the thing you are taught when you're in kindergarten

2 - molly the cat stuck in a wall for 13 days in the west village. that darn thing is still in the wall. now i feel bad, but do we need a countdown of sorts?? and doesn't the nypd search and rescue squad have anything better to do?? and a cat in san diego shot by an arrow. creepy.

3. i'm sick. i managed to make it all winter without getting a cold. the 70 degree weather comes around and i'm dowing airborne like it's my job. sometimes life just kicks you, ya know

Well, not too much is going on lately. Peter and I went to my niece Skyler's 2nd birthday party. the big gift was a tricycle. she loved it. and i got an engagement notice from a friend of mine who used to be my poly sci teacher in high school.

other than that, i'm still working lots of days, and working lots of overtime. good for the wallet, bad for the going out. but, in honor of easter and spring tiem, peter and i colored some eggs. we even got his roommate into the action - being that jared is jewish, this was his first egg dying experience. it seems that dying the eggs were more fun when i was little. but i guess everything seems fun when you don't have anything to worry about!

the boyfriend is trying to decide on graduate schools. he has narrowed his choices down to emerson (in boston) and possibly kean, which is here in NJ. his real first choice was boston university (i had no hand in that, seriously) but the cost of it is, get this, $50,000!!! holy crap that's expensive. since he's paying for it all himself, going away or staying home is a big dilemma.

i just want him to choose the best school for him. so i will keep you informed!

what can put a smile on my face??? BAKING!!!

i got a new baking cookbook and today i made my first dish. pound cake! it's cooling now, but i'll let you know how it tastes.

but i bet it's gonna be grrreat!
