oh, canada!!!i came home from our neighbor's to the north on sunday after a lovely three days of skiing and four days of drinking. but it was cold. it was was so cold that dee's b.f greg and i came up with a new term....double fuck cold! it wasn't just fucking cold, it was FUCK, it's fucking cold out!!! did you know that once the temp dips well below 0 celcius and farenheit are quite similar. case in point, thursday night it was -30C which is -22 F!!! that's right people. -22!!! double fuck! and also when it's that cold, the mucus in your nose will also freeze. double fuck that's cold!but, besides extremties freezing, the skiing was quite lovely. the snow was nice and powdery, considering that the sun couldn't melt it even if it tried! but the bitter cold was a bit more of a pain in the ass. numb fingers and toes lead to you heading in early. but i did have fun on the slopes. i also got to go back to the spa where i detoxified myself in saunas and cold baths and then had all my troubles massaged away! how relaxing!!!and then there was the eating and drinking. fondue night, as always, lots of fun and very filling. but i think i have finally mastered the art of not gorging oneself so i did NOT land myself in a fondue coma. then there was the drunk snow tubing down a hill in the woods. there was one casualty, and that was one tube that didn't even make it down one run. we're blaming the ravine that ryan slid into for that one!!!but, a great weekend was had all around. and it's sad that it can only happen once a year. wait, maybe i am glad that it's only once a year- there is only so much drunken snow tubing one can watch!!!
it is FINALLY cold here on the east coast...YIPPIE!! and it's actually snowed a few times - not much, but enough that i had to clean off my car in the morning. so things are kind of looking up in the skiing dept around here. and i know you're anxious to hear how my time at the y is going, and i must say i'm enjoying it. i added some begginer yoga to my work out mix - now i need to add some intense cardio - at some point. we'll see what i decide on - any suggestions???
today it snowed! that's right people. that white stuff that falls from the sky - apparently it happens in every OTHER part of the country, but not here. now there will be no great accumulation, but it is nice to know that mother nature (or el nino) still remembered the east coast!

you know, i thought the return of the bedazzler was pretty funny, but what i just saw advertised on tv i think is even better. the bible...on DVD!! the commercial is funny because the family looks more like they've beenn seduced by a cult, when in reality they should be "enjoying" the word of God in their own living room. but my big question is, am i going to hell because i think this is funny???
so the results are in, and i have the breasts of normal people my age. WooHoo!! i will say, it was neat to see the inside of me on a video screen. that was really cool.and after the first visit to the y, i was okay the next day. but after tonite's class, i don't have a good feeling about tomorrow. but that just means it's working, right??? RIGHT??!!!?!?!?!
i just got back from my first work out of the new year! and though i am not sore at the moment, i am NOT looking forward to waking up tomorrow. but luckily tomorrow i will be heading to the hospital in the morning. now it's nothing serious. i have to go get a sonogram (no, i'm not pregnant!) of my boobs. why, you ask? well, apparently i have dense and fibrous boobs, which means it makes it hard to do a self exam because the denseness of the boobs may mask a lump. so a sonogram is what i need just so we get a baseline. i guess if there is anything more serious, a mamogram would be in order. but i don't think there is anything going on, so i'm not worried.but i AM worried that i might not be able to walk to the hospital!!! ah, being fit does have it's price, i guess.
ok girls, the search is over! i know you've been missing this from your life, but as the commercial tells me (and since i believe everything i see on the screen) your search is over, and it's making a comeback!!!!what is your life missing, you ask?? well it's THIS
so i get home from work, find the workout pants and sports bra. eat a little something so i'll have some fuel. fill up a bottle of water and head out the door. it was a nice brisk walk over to the y. i find the room where my first class will be, and even meet some other new people taking the class - personally i feel a little better about that, not being the only one new to the class. and then we wait. and wait a little more. after waiting for about 10 mins after the class should've started, we ask the front desk and they tell us that the class is cancelled tonight and won't start again until the 5th. so i'll have to wait a little more to start re-working out. but i will not be deterred!!! maybe i'll take a yoga class in the mean time! the possibilites are endless.....
