now that my memorial day weekend is over (fear not trusted readers i actaully made it to a BBQ...when it was actually a time to eat) there are two things i'm looking forward to. looking forward like getting ready to go to camp and HOPE that the cute guy from last summer is coming back, he promised he would, you heard from others that he was coming, but you just have to see him to believe it....what is it you ask?? two of possibly the cheesiest shows ever on put on TV. Real World/Road Rules Challenge and The Hills..a laguna beach spinoff featuring LC - later on this week

i'm so excited, i even made some brownies in anticipation of the blessed events.

i think this is the one time i can tap into my inner 13 year old, and feel AWESOME about it

last night peter and i went to the hoboken historical musuem. they had a display on the 100 1st's that were either invented or discovered or created in hoboken. who knew that col. john a. stevens invented EVERYTHING!!! stevens is the railroad/engineer version of thomas edison. i learned many a neat thing. the first oreo cookie was sold in hoboken, and the ice cream cone was invented here. the first street trolleys, horse elevator, and modern day railroad ties all invented here!!! what a place. i was fascintated to learn that hoboken is actually the indian name given to this area, so the fact that they kept the name is pretty cool.

the only thing missing from the HHM is actual ARTIFACTS! i mean, they could use a little something. the building they're in was once the machine shop for the hoboken shipyard, i'm sure they could've gotten something in there. maybe they need some donations!!!

last night, flipping through the channels at some ridiculous hour of the morning, i stumbled across a channel i had never seen before. i click on "logo" and after watching a few minutes, i realized that it is a channel dedicated to gays and lesbians. who knew cablevision was so progressive??? though i think it would be funny if that channel was closer to the catholic channel.....

last night i went to a driving range for the first time with a few peeps. i had fun. i don't know if i'd want to play a round of golf, but the range is a good time. and once i was told actually how to swing, i did an okay job for a first timer. can't wait to do it again

since it's been raining here for 40 days and nights, i really haven't been up to much. except reading!!! so i've started on james joyce's portrait of the artist as a young man and a number of people have told me that is can be a difficult read. and in fact, they all gave up and stopped reading it. but i will persevere. come hell or high water i will finish it. and i will understand it...i think that is the challenge. but i will welcome any suggestions you have for reading the book. or suggestions for my next book after this one.

aahh...cinco de mayo. nothing better than having a british beer!!!

russ and tara made a trip down to the left bank of the hudson, and i had a friday night off...so of course drinking must ensue!! we tried to go out to get some mexican, but everyone in the city was trying to have mexican. so we went for a little ecclectic meal, and then out to an irish bar. i think we got our holidays mixed up. oh well.

we saw lots of sea creatures....turtles
sharks, walruses

fish, and crabs.

a very exciting day

then we took a walk along the coney island boardwalk to....NATHAN'S hotdog stand, a dream of peter's. so had some hot dogs, and i had one of the best chicken sandwiches ever!! then on the way back to the car, we stopped and played skee ball and won ourselves a harmonica and a paddle ball. very exciting.

we had a great day!!
