do you ever wonder about the people you see on your way to work? for those of us that take public transportation, i know i see the same people every day. i've got names for them - erin the chubby girl (she carries a bag with her name on it, so i know it's erin), crazy lady that dresses bad who gets off the bus at 2nd street, old guy and his maybe wife who eats granola, and they never sit down or walk towards the back of the bus. and then there's jim, the architect and his fiancee- which is more than likely neither his name OR his occupation, it's just my friend and i think he looks like a jim who may be an architect.
which brings me to thinking about what people are thinking about me every morning. there's that girl with the red hair and purple scarf. i wonder if they think about what i do for a living. i wonder if they spend the bus ride thinking about it. i wonder what they have chosen for me. or is this just completely my imagination working overboard??

holy crap!
two days of absolute pouring rain. pouring, windy rain. pant soaking gets under your skin rain. i don't think noah saw this much! 8 inches! in central park. i wish it was snow though, instead. it would've been like 5 feet, and that would've been awesome!! instead, we got so much stinking rain, everything flooded. the pit that will one day become an apartment building is FULL of water. i mean, the water filled up the hole in the ground, and actually spread itself out across two streets! there is still water along 9th street. it looks as though my car is a-ok. there didn't seem to be any damage from the water. i have to try to start it. but i figure i'll just totally make sure my engine is water free. it should be, seeing as i have an SUV. and by the time i got from work, there was no more water around my car. so that's cool.
other than that, i worked my first weekend, that entailed me working all by myself. it was a little lonley. i felt like the maytag repair man! but i survived the weekend without incident. so that was a great positive step!
let's hope the rest of the week goes swimmingly....

what a nice and relaxing weekend!
i was able to find some new shoes on my day off on friday - yay for me!! i even snagged a pair of nice brown shoes for $5!!! even bigger yay!!
saturday els and i had our third installment of "day of fun" this was has been titled "the wrath of fun". we went to the ny historical society. saw some awesome tiffany lamps. saw some plaster molds of lincoln. saw an exhibit on some guy's vast collection of apple parers. and learned about slavery in nyc. we then took the bus back to midtown and headed over to grand central to take part in tartan week (aka scottish week) we saw a demonstration from the glenfiddich whiskey people, but sadly, they had no tasting. then after a little info gathering, we headed down to tea & sympathy in the village. had some cream tea, and got to drink it out of the cutest english tea pot. and then we headed home. it was fun. next time, you should totally come with us. don't know where we'd be headed off to, but you can imagine that an obscure museum will be on the agenda. and we'll also suggestioms to...so send 'em in.
today i celebrated easter by going up to connecticut for my neice skyler's 3rd birthday. she is super cute and we had a good time. she totally wasn't into the clothes most people got her, but the easter egg hunt was a big hit! and it was also the first time i got to see my nephew brayden. what a cute and happy little boy. he did like it when i picked him up and then hung him upside down...guess i don't need to hit the gym today!
no big plans for this week...except for ellen's birthday. so if you see her, don't forget to send along the birthday wishes!!!

what has been going on with me this week, you ask?? well, things have been kind of quiet. early in the week i met my uber boss who works out of our london office. we went out for drinks, and he was really cool, and i think he enjoyed my company. since the only time i've ever talked to him before that was over the phone, it was nice for the two of us to put faces to names.
i narrowly avoided being stuck on the path (aka mcadoo) on wednesday. i guess my train was one of the last ones to make it back to hoboken before there was yet ANOTHER train derailment! and there was also a bus that went over a guard rail outside of the lincoln tunnel this week - so if you're traveling on jersey transit, be on the look out - and maybe you should pack some extra food in your bags just in case you get stuck!
and on thursday at the gym, i went back to the step class that the week before i was completely lost in. and this time i actually got most of the steps! even the instructor said that she was impressed in what an improvement i made from the week before. so that made me feel awesome! and the best part about this class, is that there is just one other person in the class, so it's like our own private step class. which is cool.
and that's about it. the only thing that i know of that's going on with me in the up coming week is that i have friday off - yay for having brits as your ceo's! other than that, i got nothing!!!
